This link has some explorations into the Firefox/Blogspot comment clash that might be of interest.
Thanks Hans, Namaste
I'll change the comment form and see if that works.

It works now, but I hate popups!
Grrrrrr!
Testing from Firefox 2.0.0.20, popup link opened in separate tab, JavaScript active only for https://www.blogger.com/, no cookies accepted …
Hi Cheesehead!
Thanks for checking. Does that mean it worked OK? For me in firefox 3.0.12, the popup opens as a small new https instance (window), but then works fine to accept comment.
Do you mean you've got ff set not to accept cookies, and it still works?
If so, good! Thanks for your efforts

My dear Professor,
yes, the posting of my last comment means that from my perspective it worked OK, given the conditions noted in the comment. Because JavaScript was active only for that single domain, I was able to open the Post a Comment link into its own tab, thereby avoiding all popuppery.
I remain your graphonymous servant,

P.S. Unfortunately this comment form doesn’t allow several style-orientated HTML tags. It also doesn’t allow certain CSS attributes within the allowable HTML tags to alternatively produce those styles — oh, bother.
Thanks again, Hans!

Which attributes did you have in mind?
Not that we can do much about it...

I’d had small caps specifically in mind, which can be produced within CSS but for which no dedicated HTML tag exists. A bit of experimentation revealed that the <span> tag was rejected; unfortunately so were the necessary CSS properties within a style attribute to make either <b> or <i> effectively function as a small caps tag.
Apparently there are third-party “comment systems” that can be bolted on somehow (perhaps hosted on each commenter’s computer?), but I don’t know how many of them can be customised to the extent of whitelisting particular HTML tags and/or attributes. I’d prefer that my predilection for typographic niceties not be the cause of additional labour on your part.
Well done on the exploratory mission into No Man’s Land — many BBC bloggers could well be interested in further details on their favourite exempted small company …
